These are Hon Long (westward), Hon Rong (northward), Hon Quy (southward), and Hon Phung (eastward, near the city). Cam Ranh Bay is divided into numerous separate, independent beaches, each with different shapes and sizes, constant water depth, clear blue sea, gentle waves, and fine white sand. These include Bai Nan, Bai Tau Be, Bai Ngang, Bai Xich, Bai Ong Dung, Bai Lech, Bai Con on Mui Hoi Peninsula, Bai Bo De, Bai Sau, Bai Nha Ngang, and various beaches within the Ngoc Suong Tourist Area.
Cam Ranh was previously known as a military base due to its strategic importance in safeguarding the Pacific Ocean and extending into the South China Sea, serving as an international transportation hub and having a special position in national security and defense. Cam Ranh is the gateway to Khanh Hoa's Truong Sa (Spratly) district and the beloved Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands of Vietnam. It is considered one of the most beautiful, calm, and sheltered natural deep-water bays in the world. Since 2004, Cam Ranh has seen remarkable development in all aspects, particularly with the construction of Cam Ranh International Airport. Travelers can reach Cam Ranh conveniently via road, waterway, air, and even railway, making it a highly accessible destination.
